Canton Wineries: Wine Tasting, Sightseeing, and Fine Dining

Canton wineries include Gervasi Vineyard, found close to downtown, and Vino Fabbricanti Winery, where wine-kits are available to those who wish to try their hand at winemaking. In addition to these Canton wineries, the list below includes nearby vineyards. For wine tasting, sightseeing, and even fine dining, wineries are a place to enjoy the good life.

Gervasi Vineyard
A short drive from downtown Canton, Gervasi Vineyard is sprawled over 55 acres, where the pampered guest will find beautiful gardens and a six-acre lake in addition to the surrounding vineyards. The facilities include a crushing house, winery, and cellar, which are available for free tours on the first and third Saturdays of the month in the summer and fall. Fine dining and gourmet shopping are also available at The Bistro and The Marketplace, which are also located on the grounds.

Vino Fabbricanti Winery
The motto here is: “Laugh lots, live well, make wine.” And that’s how this winery stands out most – guests have the option of making their own six-gallon batch of wine using the home wine-making supplies sold at the winery. For those who’d rather go a more conventional route, wine tasting is also available. Choose your favorites and purchase by the glass or bottle.

Maize Valley Market & Winery
Located in nearby Hartville, Maize Valley Market & Winery is a grape-grower’s paradise and a wine-lover’s sanctuary. More than a place to purchase a specialty wine, Maize Valley is a great place to spend a day, with concerts, festivals, harvest days, and even a “Stomp the Grapes” half marathon entertaining guests throughout the year. The family-run winery also includes a farmers market and house-baked pastries. Look for the Red Raspberry, one of the winery’s more popular specialty wines.

Breitenbach Wine Cellars
Found in Dover’s Amish Country and home of the popular Dandelion Festival, Breitenbach Wine Cellars is one of the area’s most popular wineries. Choose among 40 varieties of house-made wine and tour the state-of-the-art cellar where they were made. Even if you don’t attend the Dandelion Festival in May, you can still have a taste of the winery’s dandelion wine, offered year-round in the beautiful country grounds.
